"...dummy spot pick up a few that your scan missed the other day..."

 ---------------------------

 How can that be ?

Am I missing something here ?

An "Inside Day" is very explicit...why would there be a discrepancy ? tia

i am sorry, i meant, my filter version of your worksheet did not pick it up, because i assumed doji and nr4 would include id's.

 Ahhh...I see !

 Nope !

 ------------------------------

 An "Inside Day"...can DEFINITELY be...a "doji"...an "NR4"...and even an "NR7" !

But, a "doji" and an "NR4" or "NR7"... DEFINITELY does NOT have to be a "Inside Day" !

 chet...

...don't think it's (ie. the tight column) showing consecutive Inside Days ! (if I understood you correctly)

As a matter of fact...consecutive Inside days are fairly rare (at least on the Daily Charts).

I'm not sure what TRO is trying to display here...perhaps he can offer some clarification.

 -------------------------------------------------

I actually DO have a measure in my "Range Contraction/Expansion" scan...that looks for "Sharks".

A "Shark" ...as I call them ...is 2 consecutive Inside Days. (it's a variation of a Jeff Cooper pattern)

I like to watch for "Sharks"...but, they don't...ah hem..."surface"...frequently. They obviously are an indication of "contraction"...and when they DO pop up...they can be explosive ! fwiw

 huh ?

 Can you elaborate further ?

Say that I see symbol XYZ...and a "4"...in the "tight" column...what is that suppposed to be tellin' me ?

 -------------------------------

BTW, Rumpled...feel free to jump in here if you like !

 --------------------

*** EDIT --> The "tight" # indicates how many consecutive days "Range" has been narrowing (ie. contracting) from the day before...with the MOST RECENT DAY...being an "Inside Day" !

Hmmm...kind of a neat thing to know...nice work TRO !

"Forget about this one " ???

 ---------------------------------

Rumpled...I've been preaching "Range Contraction" for 5 years here at SF...and finally...you make
an "overt" contribution to this approach...and after having done so you say...

 ..."forget about it" !!!???!!!

 ---------------------------------------------------------

You disappoint me, my man !!!

Believe it or not...THIS just may be one of your more insightful contributions...YET !

Ironic that it's called "Dummy Spot"...and the most prolific SF contributor...EVER...is too "dumb" to see the significance !!!

 -----------------------------------------------------------

 But I kid ! (sorta)

 You know I love ya...you know I hold you in the highest regard...you know you're the Edison...the Steve Jobs...the Riggs...of StockFetcher !!!

Seriously...this is good stuff...delve deeper into this "Range Contraction" stuff !!!

Though I joke around...your "outside the box" insight...is never lost on me...I lap it up with a spoon !!!

 alf44

 PS. NOW GET BUSY !!!
